Foundation Trust Hospital challenged with increasing demands on A&E and a requirement to meet the national 4 hour standard from attendance to treatment
Action
Implemented a consultant lead service 7 days a week including during peak evening and weekend hours with defined clinical leadership of the initiative.
Result
Significant reduction in times to initial patient assessment and treatment which exceeded national standards. This reduction was sustained over time.
